Achievements of 2022

It’s that time of the year where everyone is closing down for some much-needed relaxing time (and party time!). But we can’t do that without looking back at 2022 and look over everything we have achieved. We are truly blessed and grateful for everything this year has brought us, and all the lessons learnt. From here on out, we’re signing out with a bang!

1. New and exciting office launch

We opened another office! We are now located in Bellville where we have three offices as well as a training room. If you would like to know more about our office space can work for you, please click here. Looking back, it seems like it all happened yesterday!

2. Networking event in honor of Entrepreneur's Day

What an honor it is to be an entrepreneur in today’s day and age! There’s even a specific day dedicated to you, being 15 November. This is why, we, at iKasi Creative hosted our first ever networking event to commemorate all those who started a business from nothing and still going strong till this day. We celebrated this day by giving startups an opportunity to network, engage with like-minded people and learn from the mistakes of those before us.

We had a fantastic line-up of guest speakers that came out and shared their experiences. We had Warren Hewitt who is the founder of GTP, Abraham Oliver, Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre at UWC, Rucien Petersen, founder of Spottmedia, Margaux Gaigher who founded Uluma HR and lastly, Odwa Mqomboti, owner of Mqomboti Africa. It was a fun and exciting event and lots of people came out in support.

3. iKasi Creative as CSI Partner for Fame Week Africa

iKasi Creative had the opportunity to be the CSI (Corporate Social Investment) Partner in collaboration with Fame Week Africa! The event took place between 24-26 August at the CTICC in Cape Town with over a thousand people in attendance. The event was meant to bring together everyone from the entertainment industry. Meetings and screenings took place and there were ample opportunities for people to network and engage among themselves.  That week really helped in creating awareness for us. In relation to this, we also had Natalie Delport-Louw in our presence who gave a very engaging Masterclass on Neuro-linguistic Program (NLP). One of our alumni, Chad Louw, hailing all the way from Dysselsdorp near Oudtshoorn, also gave us a few things to think about regarding life, his career choices and how iKasi Creative gave him that push to do what he loves doing. Suffice to say, having attended an event as huge as Fame Week would bring nothing but new opportunities!

Here’s what Martin Hiller, Marketing, Content + Creative Director of Fame Week Africa, built by RX Africa, had to say about the partnership, “Fame Week Africa provides a platform for African creatives to fast track their careers through conversations, networking and learning. Our partnership with iKasi Creative will highlight the incredible work that they are doing with the youth in the film, television and multimedia space by not only showcasing their student’s work but also providing their creative content creators with the opportunity to connect, be inspired and be part of important conversations. We look forward to growing this partnership.

The iKasi Creative team, doing what they do best.

4. iKasi Creative's DMCC Incubator has taken off!

We have FINALLY launched our first DMCC (Digital Media Content Creator) Incubator Program and currently have a few learners participating in this 12 month program. Training is done face-to-face for a week and for the rest of the month, they study from home. A few interesting topics the program cover are media law, civic journalism, basic photography techniques for DSLR, start and grow your business, producing quality video content and so much more!

5. The SA Skills Challenge and Innovation Program

Lastly, iKasi Creative is ending the year on a high note by winning first place in the Skills Challenge and Innovation Program!  We needed to do an 8-minute pitch with the topic “Boosting youth employability though digital skills” in mind. iKasi Creative won first prize and was afforded the opportunity to participate in a 6-month Skills Innovation Lab which provides access to face-to-face and virtual training, mentoring, networking opportunities, capacity building and exposure for the brand. 2023 will definitely be the year for iKasi Creative!!
